Shaped by the Moment was created during my Erasmus exchange in Türkiye, where I discovered the contrast between tradition and the freedoms of Western European art and design.
In my making moulds for glass class, we were given the assignment to create a releasable form. I pushed the boundaries by making a non-releasable form instead, inspired by a crumpled piece of paper that transforms from a flat surface into a complex volume.
The work explores how the plane dictates the line, rather than the other way around, and emphasizes the idea that we are all shaped by our background and experiences.
