The idea for the artwork ‘A Dangerous Game’ arose from an encounter I had my with my niece. We were playing the game Jenga together, during the game she would drop the bricks, put them next to us and later I had to use them as bartering currency in her imaginary shop. This childlike playfulness that has many qualities is something that is often lost as we grow older.
One of the contradictions of glass that fascinates me is that it is a strong material and fragile at the same time.
The artwork was created from this encounter and the fusion of these two elements.
The artwork made of glass, with its duality, invites the spectator to play with it. This invitation evokes the playfulness of youth to play the game and drop the stones. At the same time, the adult mind cannot be turned off and evokes the fear of breaking glass.
